Ex-Microsoft Director of Strategy and Content appointed President of CondéNet International

  

 

20th February 2007, London; Condé Nast Publications Ltd is delighted to announce the appointment of Stefano Maruzzi as President of CondéNet International, a new position, with responsibility for all the new media activity conducted by CondéNet International in the territories outside the United States.

 

Stefano Maruzzi will supervise CondéNet International's existing 58 websites in 12 countries while spearheading the development of new concepts, products and markets defined both geographically and in consumer terms.  He will work closely with the Presidents of the various Condé Nast International country organizations while reporting directly to Jonathan Newhouse, Chiarman of Condé Nast International.  In addition, he will serve on the Executive Committee of Condé Nast International

 

Stefano comes to CondéNet International from Microsoft where he has been Director of Strategy and Content-International for MSN, Microsoft's consumer portal, since January 2006.  Between 2000 and 2006 he served as Italy country manager for MSN.  For many years previously he worked for Mondadori, the largest magazine publisher in Italy, where he was in charge of the book division Mondadori Infomatica from 1996 to 1999.  Earlier he served as editor of the magazine PCWeek and established an educational training center within Mondadori.  He has written 15 books, mainly on computer related subjects, and hundreds of articles for magazines and newspapers.

 

Stefano's experience in both the print publishing and the online industries, as well as his proven ability and outstanding reputation, qualify him superbly for this new position.  His appointment reflects the commitment of Condé Nast Publications to build their new media editorial offering and brand power across all media platforms.
